Vileness Background:  Our kitchen is on the opposite side of the house from the drain. We have a pump on the sink that raises the waste by 2 meters so it can flow through the ceiling space and across to the drain.  This pump is enclosed in a tank and activated when the water in the tank reaches a certain level. Last night I walked into the kitchen and got a very wet foot.  A quick peek under the sink confirmed that one of the waste unions had separated (Newton3 was right!), resulting in a load of waste water with a 2m head spraying everywhere.
